Silver Fabrication with Helen Blythe-Hart

 

Beginner-Intermediate Silver Fabrication (HB-SFB)

 

Instructor: Helen Blythe-Hart

When: Winter -  Ends March 20 -  11:00am-2:00pm, Tuesdays (10 sessions)  

Spring - Apr 10- Jun 12 11:00am-2:00pm, Tuesdays (10 sessions)

 

Cost: $265

 

Beginners will start with a small project and grow from there. Making a bezel, forming a ring, sawing, filing, rolling mill primer and soldering basics will be covered. Intermediates continue to learn skills such as stone setting, special soldering tips, design and fabrication of their own designs, or can try a more challenging project designed to build on their skills.

 

IntermediateSilver Fabrication  (HB-SFI)

When:  Winter -  Ends March 20 - 7:00pm-10:00pm, Tuesdays (10 sessions)

Spring -  Apr10 - Jun 12;  7:00 pm-10:00pm, Tuesdays (10 sessions)

Jewelry and metalsmithing classes for Intermediates are designed to hone your skills and teach you how to get professional looking results in a shorter amount of time. A wide variety of demonstrations will sharpen your skill-set including, more advanced bezel settings for difficult stones, production, and gold bezels, faceted stone setting, wax carving, Keum boo, fabrication, design and tool maintenance. For those motivated to develop their own styles, advice is available for business or portfolio development and for setting up a home studio. Students can choose to do a project or some of their own designs.

 

 

Intermediate-Advanced Silver Fabrication  (HB-SFA)

When: Winter -  Ends March 20 - Tuesdays (10 sessions)

Spring -  Apr 10 - Jun 12; Tuesday 6:30pm-9:30pm, Tuesdays (10 sessions)

Jewelry and Metalsmithing students who have already learned the basics and work independently will learn the tips only a professional can teach how to get gallery quality results in less time. With a small class size, students receive personalized attention for their specific needs in design, advanced fabrication, clasps, stone setting, touches of gold, production techniques, rolling mill, tool maintenance, soldering tips and tricks, wax carving for casting, metalsmithing techniques and other demos that students request. Most students work on their own designs with an emphasis on one or more of the demos shown during class.
