AMALGAMarts now offers One-Day Intensive Workshops! This series is designed to enrich the technical repertoire of jewelers that already have some experience. You'll be surprised at number the creative avenues just one technique can add to your jewelry design! Our One-Day Workshops last 6 hours and include instruction and materials, but you'll need a bag lunch and a snack (or you can go to the wonderful buffet in the Dekalb Farmer's Market, less than 1/4 mile down the road)!

This intensive course will help you take your etching to the next level! Learn how to transfer a digital image to an etched pattern in copper or brass. Create engravings with words, symbols and patterns, or other black-and white, high contrast image.* Instruction will be given in chemical safety, image preparation, image application, and post-etching fabrication. This one-day, intensive class will provide enough materials to etch one 3x6" piece of copper or brass. Like Etching I, patterns created in this class can be transferred to silver in our Roll Printing class (just remember to create mirror of your etching!).

*Please bring images to class, either on your laptop (please provide your own flash drive), flash drive or CD, or black and white photocopy. Remember that images will be printed in reverse!
