AMALGAMarts now offers One-Day Intensive Workshops! This series is designed to enrich the technical repertoire of jewelers that already have some experience. You'll be surprised at number the creative avenues just one technique can add to your jewelry design! Our One-Day Workshops last 6 hours and include instruction and materials, but you'll need a bag lunch and a snack (or you can go to the wonderful buffet in the Dekalb Farmer's Market, less than 1/4 mile down the road)!

Keum-boo is an ancient Korean technique in which gold is diffusion bonded onto silver, creating a beautiful bi-metal effect. Low-tech and immediate gratification, this class is the perfect way for jewelers with some experience to add another level of sophistication to their pieces. This intensive one-day-workshop will provide you with enough silver and gold to produce one pendant and a set of earrings and instruction in silver depletion, gold foil manipulation, gold burnishing, and basic fabrication. Come ready to work and leave with beautiful, wearable art!
