Today’s jewelry is primarily mass produced through the process of lost wax casting. An alternative to this method of production is cuttlebone casting, an ancient process in which molten metal is poured into a mold made from the bone of the cuttlefish. The resulting jewelry has a distinctive texture which gives your piece a natural, organic feel. This one-day workshop allows students to re-discover this "lost" technique to create unique jewelry in only one day. Basic materials (a $25 value) are included in the cost of this course. Additional materials may be purchased on site or through recommended vendors. This class is open to all levels of experience.
